Annual Conference
Annual Conference

The annual conference is the general meeting of the Baltic Sea Seven Islands where the politicians, senior public officers and members of the workgroups summarise the activities of the previous year, discuss further cooperation and adopt programmes and policies for future activities.

The task of organising the annual conference is connected with the rotating chairmanship of the B7 cooperation. 2000 was the year of chairmanship for Bornholm and the B7 annual conference has been held on 7 and 8 December in Brussels. Saaremaa chaires the B7 cooperation in 2001 and 2002 is the year for Öland to take care about chairmanship.

The annual conference is part of the overall B7 strategical management, including:

  • approving the budget;
  • evaluating the achieved results and setting out guidelines for further activities;
  • reviewing work programmes, goals, strategies etc and approving changes or new proposed programmes or strategies;
  • appointing members of the Steering Committee.
