The focus groups are intended to add flexibility to B7. They are formed to solve specific problems faced by members, prepare the major projects or formulate common political proposals.

The B7 board, after consultation with the Steering Committee, is authorised to set up the task specific focus group. Every focus group has task specific well described objectives, limited timeframe, agenda and budget.

When the task is finished the focus group will be disbanded. There is no limit on the number of focus groups.

The B7 Board can award up to SEK 40,000 per focus group before it must refer the matter to the B7 Steering Committee.

At present the first focus group to be considered is for Transport and Communication. This will be done at the next B7 Board meeting.
