WG People to People
Working Group People to People

In the strategy "THE BALTIC SEA ISLANDS - A COMMON STRATEGY FOR THE FUTURE" the B7 organisation has defined the fields of activity of its People-to-People WG as well as the importance such activities have for the islands' co-operation. Setting up the framework for common actions of highest priority the B7 islands emphasized in this document "that endeavours which promote reaching and developing cultural understanding between people are just as valuable as the joint efforts taken by the islands in the areas of business and environment. It is the exchange of thoughts, ideas and experiences of individuals, sharing common values, that creates the foundation of a fruitful co-operation and hence a positive development on our islands and within the Baltic Sea region".

The main tasks of P-t-P Workgroup are:

  • to promote co-operation between schools, societies, institutions and organisations in the fields of culture, education, sport and art;
  • to support the exchange of common experience;
  • to develop projects or help to co-ordinate projects by transferring information to the right people or to B7-Group for decision making.

To fulfil these tasks the P-t-P Workgroup meets twice a year and holds video conferences between the meetings:

  • to discuss ideas, inquiries, contact wishes etc.;
  • to discuss submitted project proposals and take decisions about small project funding;
  • to recommend projects for start-up funding by B7-Group;
  • to survey the ongoing projects of the WG.

P-t-P WG is glad to receive your project proposals and offers its support. You are welcome to contact the WG members for questions, proposals or project ideas. It will be a pleasure for everyone of us to give you more information.
